Indore: The district administration is in the process of granting land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages that were incorporated into the municipal corporation limits. Back in 2014, the Indore district expanded the municipal corporation boundaries to include these villages. Residents or their heirs who occupy residential land without a lease can now apply for land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently directed this initiative during a meeting in Indore.

Presently, landowners in these 29 villages within the municipal limits encounter difficulties in selling their properties or securing loans for house construction due to the lack of proper registration, lease, or documents. As per the circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020, affected individuals can apply for land holding rights. Successful applicants will be granted a lease for 30 years, enabling them to obtain loans and transfer their property as needed.

On September 29, 2024, application camps will be set up at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia to receive applications. Eligible beneficiaries will receive leases under land holding rights after verification.

SDM Rau Vinod Rathore stated, “Online lease applications will be accepted at these camps. Applicants should bring necessary documents, such as electricity and water supply bills, government office correspondence, 2011 census address, property tax receipts, and voter list information.”
